Meze is a delightful Southern French town directly
on the bay, in the eastern area of Langedoc-Roussillon
down from Provence. It is 30 km to Montpellier,
where Cimber Air flies once a week in summer.
It is 20 km to Sete and 140 km to Avignon.
Meze is a very well kept small town with
8.000 inhabitants year round. The mayor has
decided to change the road surface to how
it looked in the past. In many places in the
town you will find open places - maybe with
an olive tree or a palm.
You will like the marina, with its many sail- and motorboats and surrounded with a lot of restaurants. The daily "menu du jour" costs about 12-14 euros, and then you can choose between mussels, oysters or snails - with a glass of local wine. You can off course also choose the daily menu with meat..
From the house you can walk to everything:
Greengrocer, shops, butcher or to one of the
many bakeries, where you can buy your baguettes..
On the outskirts of the town are two large
supermarkets where you can find nearly everything.
Also visit the local café and enjoy
the life and enjoy the local atmosphere.
In outskirts from the town there are the local
vineyards - these you must visit - the local
wines are very good and inexpensive.
